About Us

Art Management, Consultancy & Services

Segaris Art Center is an established commercial art gallery showcasing modern and contemporary Malaysian art ranging from historically significant to cutting-edge, since 2011.

The gallery aspires to build and strengthen platforms for established and emerging artists to exhibit works of art, exchange knowledge, and build rapport with art collectors and enthusiasts alike. Segaris Art Center is a household name within the Malaysian art fraternity and actively promotes Malaysian artists locally and internationally, as well as assisting private collectors and corporations in acquiring defining works of art.

The gallery’s commitment to this mission is entrusted to a selected group of art professionals and academics. Segaris’ stable of artists are sought-after practitioners whose works are known to be in-demand in the local art market.

Art Management

Art Management of administration is the core of Segaris Art Center’s day-to-day commercial business and operations. It is a niche, specialized and skilled service ranging from curatorial concept, cataloguing, inventory development, logistics, exhibition display, acquisition, conservation and archive to PR, Digital Marketing as well as Artist and Collectors liaisons. These expertise are offered as services to clients and collectors for projects involving corporate collection, residential, hospitality, murals, Interior & Architectural designs and bespoke art comissions. Occasionally, it also extends to include special project management for art collaborations with brands.

Curatorial

From art historical to thematic perspectives, we creatively sought for narratives to give value to body of artworks to suit the needs of commercial, educational, corporations, commemoration, leisure or societal concerns. Curatorial content is engineered either by in-house or from sought after independent and guest curators.

Catalogue Publishing – Editorial & Design

Cataloguing or documentation of art serves as an important role for record-keeping, reference and portfolio purposes. The creative and tedious tasks of editorial and layout design of catalogues are entrusted to key players and experienced writers, proofreaders, translators, editors, designers, photographers and printers who have been in the industry for more than a decade.

Inventory Management

Large volumes of art collections by corporations or collectors requires an immense work of inventory management. An orderly art inventory is beneficial for asset management, appraisals, cataloguing, consignment reports, tracking, archiving, public virtual viewing/website, provenance and many more.

Art Handling

Either for exhibition, display, storage or freight, we provide art handling services include Framing, Packing, Installation and Transportation. Our framers, insurance providers, installers and transporters are reliable and well known within the art fraternity.

Restoration & Conservation

Over the years or in any unfortunate circumstance, works of art require conservation or restoration. Our panel of art restorers and conservators are artists themselves or from other art institutions whom are professionally trained and working in the Conservation Department.

Art Storage

For safekeeping, we provide minimum art storage on a case to case basis and consultancy to develop a conducive art depository.

Corporate

Segaris Art Center’s approach to corporate acquisition is through manifestation of the company’s core values, vision and mission as well as brand identity. We source from Malaysian artists whom are in demand in the art market for the company’s investment to match the functional and aesthetical needs of office spaces.

It is a tailored end-to-end service from the creative brief to installation ,inventory management and conservation. We may work closely with the company’s internal stakeholders, Architects and Interior Designers in order to provide a seamless service.

On an adhoc basis, we also consult and advise for companies to host their own exhibitions based on their own collection ,new acquisitions or mixed with external loaned works to suit their communications objective, celebrations or launch events. The exhibition may just be for internal staff or open for public viewing. This initiative adds value to their collection and simultaneously offers a Corporate Social Responsibility contribution towards the Arts & Culture sector.

Residential

Most of Segaris Art Center’s clients acquire works of art for residential purposes. This is supported by our offering of monthly exhibitions hosted from our gallery premise at Publika Shopping Gallery, Kuala Lumpur. With the home being a private space, most homeowners prefer certain styles of artwork based on each of their unique personalized taste. At Segaris Art Center, we try to consult clients based on their stylistic preferences, budget and dimensions of space, before proposing any work of art from our repository. The service incvludes transportation and installation

In instances where residential clients are art collectors for investment purposes, our service extends to consultancy beyond personal aesthetic taste, but to suit the demand of the art market. Each artwork is catalogued and comes with certification of authenticity to meet the documentation criteria of auction houses and art dealers/traders.

Art Management, Consultancy & Services

One of the most exciting projects is to supply works of art to lifestyle spaces which include hotels, resorts, boutique lodgings, cafes and restaurants. Here at Segaris At Center, we try to consult based on your needs and complement the ambiance of the space to create a unique experience for your guests to have a memorable visit and instagrammable photos. The supply of works of art varies from high volume to small customized volumes.

Depending on the creative brief, furnishing lifestyle spaces may be curated based on thematic measures as well. It all depends on your desired outcome and how we may integrate with your interior layout, decor, furniture and fittings to achieve an enhanced and artistically balanced atmosphere.

Murals

Of late, Mural Art has taken center stage when urban rejuvenation projects take place at pockets of concentrated areas withinthe city center. Murals bear the capacity to makeover and change a mundane blank wall to a vibrant and quirky one with relevant designs to suit the client’s requirements and desired environment.

Not just limited to outdoors, ie. commercial buildings, schools and public amenities; murals can also be painted indoors in offices, hotels, cafes and co-working spaces. Segaris Art Center is affiliated with various groups of muralists who are able to transform your space and work large to semi-scale murals.

Together, we will go through the process of creative conceptualization, licensing, production, documentation and the finishing touches. The consultation service also extends onto special projects for corporate or philanthropic sponsorship murals.

For Interior & Architectural Designs

When it comes to interior & architectural design, Segaris Art Center works closely with the client’s interior designers and architects prior to construction, be it for for design and build, renovation or refurbishment projects. These sort of projects allow supply of artwork to be more customized according to design specifications. It may be extended to integrated building, housing, landscape and township designs with works of art including colossal sculptures, sculptural lightings, sculptural feature fittings or sculptural furniture.
